A Dream
The Manhasset Animal Hospital was a dream come true. I grew up in Manhasset and went to both junior and senior high school here. There was not an animal hospital town and I started looking for a location in 1985. I found this 1923 building and after lengthy zoning hearings I was able to open my solo practice in October 1986. I lived above the hospital for years having only a three second commute to work each day. Today a vet tech lives upstairs to provide our clients with 24 hour care.

Dr. Robert Henrickson is a single practitioner. He received his Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine (DVM) from Cornell University in 1983. He practiced in Brooklyn, New Jersey, and on Long Island,
and has also worked at the Bronx Zoo where he gained more experience in exotic
animal medicine. In 1986, Dr.
Henrickson bought and renovated the 1923 building on Plandome Road where his
practice is located. Dr.
Henrickson is a member of the AVMA, LIVMS and HUG. He is married to Cynthis Hutton and has two daughters, Anna
and Berit
